Luis Izquierdo
Luis Izquierdo is the newest member of the GPS team.
Luis’ comes from a family who have an established piano company in his native Spain, his father being a respected technician himself. Luis was initially trained by his father, though he’s also attended many training academies including at the Bechstein factory in Berlin, the Yamaha Piano Technical Academy in Hamburg and the Technicians’ course at Renner in the USA.
He is currently under the wing of the Senior GPS team, specifically on a mentoring program with Master Technician Peter Salisbury. He has worked with Peter at the Rosendal Chamber Music in Norway (under the artistic directorship of Leif Ove Andsnes) where he undertook advanced training in chamber music piano preparation.
Luis lives in Madrid and regularly looks after concerts and recitals at major venues there including Auditorio Nacional de Musica, the main concert hall in Spain.
He maintains teaching and concert pianos at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid and has worked for many of the worlds’ great pianists including the Marta Argarich, Nelson Goerner and Benjamin Grosvenor.
The Senior Concert Technicians at GPS are delighted to be able to pass on their skills by way of exclusive advanced training and mentoring to our younger team members. This is something which has declined to a huge degree in our industry in recent decades and we very much welcome the opportunity to pass on our combined experience to talented and enthusiastic Technicians of the next generation.
